Module description

During this module you will spend a minimum of 30 weeks full-time (or equivalent) undertaking work in a placement that provides relevant and practical experience to complement your study of law (in any industry, of at least junior professional level). The School of Law and the Placements Team will support you in seeking a placement in years one and two of your studies, and you will enter the placement in year three. Your placement will allow you to graduate having gained knowledge on how a relevant industry operates, the importance of commercial awareness, and what skills a prospective employer will seek in a graduate.

You will still be registered as a University of Essex student during your placement year, and you will have access to all the normal services such as the library, Student Support, and the Students' Union.

In order to enter the placement year, we require you to achieve an average of 60% across your first year modules.
