This module combines the use of lectures to introduce topics, interactive lectures, workshops and problem-based learning enable to student to critically appraise their learning throughout delivery, grounding theoretical learning in practice.
Lectures: The fixed resource session consists of introductory information outlining the requirements of learning and assessment submission.
Independent learning: This involves the student in a self-guided study using learning resources including recommended reading, course study notes, library resources, posters, models and resources in the SLT communications labs and appropriate tutorial support
Practice-based: This information underpins later learning in readiness for placement activity, it will be required when considering clients' difficulties throughout placement experiences
Technology-Enhanced Learning: Resources are available through Moodle, the module's reading list and resources available in the SLT Communication Labs.
Tutorials: Students are encouraged to access individual or small group tutorial support for areas of difficulty. Academic staff make themselves available for tutorial support by appointment.
