BA N8N6 Events Management with Hospitality
This module will build upon the work undertaken in Professional and Personal Development 1 and in particular to provide a vehicle for the enhancement of intellectual ability, personal skills, career development and to build on your personal progression and portfolio.
This module aims to enable you to:
1. Critically analyse and evaluate their current skills development profile.
- Personal skills audit, career and academic development needs, learner managed learning and contract negotiation;
- Planning & Management of Learning.
2. Apply a range of personal and professional skills in achieving personal and work objectives within the context of career development.
- Managing and developing self;
- Personal resources and action planning, time management, self-esteem.
3. Undertake a critical review of the functional characteristics in one area of a hotel operation.
- Research skills;
- Sourcing and managing information, research methods, analyzing research findings, proposing and justifying conclusions, recommendation and solutions.
At the conclusion of this module you should be able to:
1. Critically analyse and evaluate their current skills development profile.
2. Apply a range of personal and professional skills in achieving personal and work objectives within the context of career development.
3. Undertake a critical review of the functional characteristics in one area of a hotel operation.

Learning and teaching will take the shape of either classroom based or online lectures and seminars where Wivenhoe House will be used to contextualize theory and illustrate practice. Self-managed learning will supplement seminars where you will be provided with guidance on required reading and on-line learning resources.
