Module description

This module gives you the opportunity to further develop practical and experimental design skills which are central to studies in cellular and molecular biology. Students undertake small group, project-based investigations into aspects of molecular cell biology. You will also gain experience in data analysis, and in poster presentation. These skills will be linked to improving your c.v., and further training in producing high quality scientific reports.

Learning Outcomes
In order to pass this module students will have needed to demonstrate:
1. competence in a range of key skills in information retrieval, experimental design and planning, data analysis and interpretation, numeracy, problem solving and report writing;
2. competence in oral and written communication skills and group work;
3. engagement with PDP, including developing an e-portfolio, a cv, and a job application;
4. effective written scientific communication, and using appropriate internet sources, books and other refereed papers sensibly and correctly.
