Module description

MODULE OUTLINE

The Module commences with an outline of Partnership Law. This will be followed by a study of various aspects of Company Law (including professional negligence), together with the rules of Agency, Insolvency principles and the offence of Insider Dealing. The Module will conclude with an examination of Employment Law.

The Module is designed to allow students to:

• Insider Dealing

Learning and teaching methods

TEACHING DELIVERY There will be a two-hour lecture per week and a one-hour class fortnightly for 10 weeks, followed by a compulsory consolidation lecture in the Spring term and a compulsory revision lecture in the Summer term. ASSESSMENT The Module will be assessed by a compulsory coursework element viz. a 2,000 word essay weighted at 50% in the Spring Term, together with a two-hour closed-book examination weighted at 50% in the Summer Term. MATERIALS REQUIRED FOR USE IN ALL LECTURES & CLASSES 1. This module booklet which contains all references to statutes and case-law cited in lectures. 2. Copies of Power Point slides projected in the lectures which may be downloaded from Moodle and printed for insertion in students’ lecture notes.
