This module will be delivered via:
- Eight 2-hour seminars.
- Four 2-hour practicals.
- Four 1-hour voluntary support classes.
- Online resources.
Seminars:
Seminars will be used to introduce and discuss theoretical underpinnings and associated evidence of psychological skills and strategies in sport, and develop practitioner understanding of how to integrate these into their practice. Seminar activities will involve discussion tasks, problem-based learning, and other activities to aid learning and understanding. These activities will provide important formative feedback in preparation for the module assessments.
Practicals:
Practicals will explore the application of psychological skills and strategies in practice. This will involve tasks to explore the effectiveness of psychological skills and strategies, and discuss factors that influence the effective design and implementation of psychological skills. These activities will provide important formative feedback in preparation for the module assessments.
Voluntary support classes:
Voluntary support classes are available to discuss individuals' learning experiences and encourage reflective practice. These will also serve to support preparation for the assessments and offer formative feedback.
Independent:
Students are expected to undertake directed and independent reading of key textbooks and journal articles to support their learning and help prepare assignments.
Online:
