This module will draw upon learning and understanding from the module Understanding Self and Others, to enable students to apply, evaluate and analyse approaches to developing themselves as professionals, and relationships with others such as service users and peers.
This module will consider the opportunities and challenges of upcoming placement experiences, with a view to the ongoing development of the self, and others.
1. Identify and evaluate opportunities to develop therapeutic relationships whilst respecting the FoR of others, specifically service users, peers and the interprofessional team.
2. Evaluate skills that can be used to change behaviours when working collaboratively with others, specifically service users, peers and the interprofessional team.
3. Develop an understanding of the role of life-long learning, and applied it to your own professional practice.

Formative assessment
Placement reflections may be submitted to personal tutor on completion of each placement, for formative feedback.
A 500 word plan/draft of case study may be submitted.
Exam format definitions
- Remote, open book: Your exam will take place remotely via an online learning platform. You may refer to any physical or electronic materials during the exam.
- In-person, open book: Your exam will take place on campus under invigilation. You may refer to any physical materials such as paper study notes or a textbook during the exam. Electronic devices may not be used in the exam.
- In-person, open book (restricted): The exam will take place on campus under invigilation. You may refer only to specific physical materials such as a named textbook during the exam. Permitted materials will be specified by your department. Electronic devices may not be used in the exam.
- In-person, closed book: The exam will take place on campus under invigilation. You may not refer to any physical materials or electronic devices during the exam. There may be times when a paper dictionary,
for example, may be permitted in an otherwise closed book exam. Any exceptions will be specified by your department.
