Module description

The module is divided in to classes devoted to language and sessions focussing on textual analysis for a total of three contact hours a week for 21 weeks.
In our weekly grammar class, we will for example be refining and extending the study of the language structures and functions. Reading and debating classes will be based on reading materials at home. All the activities will require weekly preparation and homework.

Module aims

The overall aim of the module is to achieve proficiency equivalent to level C1 of the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in speaking, writing, reading and listening.

Module learning outcomes

The Learning Outcomes of this module are:
• To learn to write structured commentaries and coherent and cohesive presentations.
• To practise creative writing.
• To practise presentations and reporting for the purpose of discussing and analysing.
• To make you aware of the varieties of spoken and written Italian styles and registers (e.g. colloquial, narrative and academic) and use them appropriately
