Stage Management (Stage Manager, Deputy Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager)
Scenic Construction (Master Carpenter, Deputy Carpenter)
Prop Making (Head Prop Maker, Deputy Prop Maker, Prop Maker)
Costume Production (Costume Supervisor, Deputy Costume Supervisor, Costume Maker)
Lighting and Sound (Lighting Designer, Chief Electrician, Deputy Chief Electrician, Sound Designer)
Production Manager - by invitation only
Assistant Costume Designer - by invitation only

Module aims

The aims of this module are to:

Develop further and consolidate the students' practical skills in Stage and Production Management

Develop the students' financial and budgetary skills

Further develop the student's confidence in taking on production roles with more responsibility

Continue to develop and enhance the students' professionalism in the key skills areas of:
Communication, reliability and time management;
Team work and management of a team where appropriate;
Initiative and self-motivation;
Committment and flexibility;

Enhance the students' practical skills in the key areas of:
Quality and finish of practical work;
Attention to detail on practical work;
Understanding different technology and materials;
Management and organisation of the work environment;
Management and understanding of costing and budgets;
Understanding of Health and Safety

Consolidate the students' understanding of the importance of relfection and critical thinking.

Continue to develop the students' understanding of the importance of documentation and record keeping.

Learning and teaching methods

Small group practical classes, seminars, tutorials, independent work and supervised productions. Students lean through practised based teaching on this module. Small group seminars happen at the beginning of the module to help the student reflect on their progression to date and enable them to develop further their managerial & financial skills during this module. Regular tutorials and production based meetings also support the teaching in this module.
