Exploration of the classical mime vocabulary.
Exploration of the movement vocabulary of modern mime practitioners.
Introduction to the work of key modern practitioners such as Etienne DeCroux and Jacques Lecoq.
The aims of the module are:
To introduce techniques of classical and modern mime.
To explore the work of key practitioners.
To apply technique to a devised narrative.
On completion of this module the student should be able to:
- Demonstrate extended physical dexterity in weight, balance, tempo and space.
- Create and sustain improvisation within the discipline of mime.
- Work with confidence and trust in the workshop/ rehearsal situation.
- Shape a physical mime routine arising from character and situation.
