Module description

This module explores classical texts and characters. You will begin to establish approaches to textual analysis, building on the work of EA001-0-AU. You will use research, improvisation and other performance means, to assist in the creation of truthful characters.

Module aims

- To provide students with the ability to:
- Better understand texts and character
- Use textual analysis as performance preparation
- Create truthful characters

Module learning outcomes

- Students will be able to demonstrate:
- The development of professional potential: Discipline, extending range, focus, presence and personal contribution
- Commitment, energy and positive attitude
- Creative inventiveness
- Increased flexibility and sensitivity to change
- Increased ability to act upon notes
- Greater understanding of ensemble acting: adaptability, generous participation in all stages of work, awareness of relationships

- Greater textual comprehension and use of actors research: Understanding and interpreting language and plot
