Europe (non-European Union) Regional Scholarship (Undergraduate)

If you're an international student from Albania, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Macedonia, Montenegro, Norway, Russia, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey, or Ukraine and you're funding your own studies, you could be eligible for a scholarship worth £3,000 which you'll receive as a tuition fee discount in your first year. This Scholarship is available for both Undergraduate and Masters students.

Eligibility

You must meet all of the following conditions:

  • be classified as an international student for fee purposes
  • be fully self-funding your studies
  • be a national of and resident in one of the listed countries
  • be in the first year of your undergraduate degree course in 2021-22
  • for 2021-22 entry: undergraduate students must make Essex your firm choice on UCAS by 31 May 2021.

Students who aren't eligible

You are not eligible for the award, even if you meet the criteria above, if you fall into any of the following categories:

  • Students undertaking courses at East 15 Acting School.
  • Students who are fully or partly sponsored
  • These scholarships do not apply to deferred entry. Where a student, to whom a scholarship has been offered and requests deferred entry, the award will be considered again in line with the terms and conditions that apply in the new proposed year of entry.
  • Students transferring into the second year from another UK higher education institution.
  • Students with dual nationality who are not assessed as paying overseas fees.
  • University of Essex International College (UEIC) Pathway students.

Full details

You can only receive one award and it can't normally be held in conjunction with other University of Essex awards.
