German Partnership Bursary

2017-18 entry

If you're from Germany and will be starting at Essex in 2017, we offer you a bursary of £1,000 for your first year.

Eligibility

You must meet all of the following conditions:

  • be a national of Germany
  • be ordinarily resident in Germany (see the full terms and conditions below for the definition of "ordinary residence")
  • have received an offer of admission for entry to Essex for 2017-18
  • accept your place as your firm UCAS choice by 30 June 2017
  • register for a full-time undergraduate degree at Essex with first enrolment in 2017-18
  • be in your first year of study at the University at the start of the award, or starting an eligible course following successful completion of the International Foundation Programme year at Essex

Students who aren't eligible

You are not eligible for the award, even if you meet the criteria above, if you fall into any of the following categories:

  • your tuition fees are funded by the NHS
  • your course is at East 15 Acting School
  • you are directly continuing from one course to another (for example, from foundation degree or HND on to the final year of an honours degree)
  • you are transferring into the first or second year from another UK higher education institution

You don't need to complete an application form. If you meet all the eligibility criteria above you will automatically be awarded the German Partnership Bursary and will be notified by the end of August 2017.
