Bulgarian Partnership Bursary

2020-21 entry

We offer bursaries of £1,000 to students from Bulgaria who start at Essex in 2020. The bursary is only available for your first year at Essex.

Eligibility

You must meet all of the following conditions:

  • be ordinarily resident in Bulgaria (see the full terms and conditions below for the definition of "ordinary residence")
  • have received an offer of admission for entry to the University of Essex for 2020
  • have made Essex your firm choice by 18 September 2020*
  • register for a full-time undergraduate degree at the University of Essex with first enrolment in 2020-21
  • be in your first year of study at the University in 2020-21

* this includes applicants who apply to the University through the UCAS Clearing process.

Students who aren't eligible

You are not eligible for the award, even if you meet the criteria above, if you fall into any of the following categories:

  • Students undertaking courses at East 15 Acting School.
  • These scholarship awards do not apply to deferred entry. Where a scholarship has been awarded to a student who subsequently defers entry to the following academic year, the award will be withdrawn and the applicant will be considered again in line with the terms and conditions that apply in the new proposed year of entry.
  • Students transferring into the second year from another UK higher education institution.
  • Students directly continuing from one course to another (for example from Foundation degree or HND on to the final year of an honours degree).
