Masters fees

If you're an Essex graduate or studied abroad here, you could be eligible for our alumni loyalty discount. We also offer a wide range of scholarships and bursaries to make funding your studies easier.

We'll assess your fee status when you apply to Essex and you can contact us to enquire about your fee status. If you are successful in gaining an offer, your fee status will be confirmed in your offer letter.

Where can I find details of course fees for each course?

Our individual course pages provide details of the course fees for all courses, including whether the amount shown is a fee for the entire course, an annual fee or a modular fee. To search for your course, use our Course Finder search tool.

Part-time fees

Part-time fees are calculated on a pro-rata basis from the course's full-time fee.

If you take a one-year Masters on a part-time basis over two years, you'll pay half of the course's fee in your first year. In your second year you'll pay half of the full-time fee for that year, which may by different to the fee in your first year.

Annual fee changes

For students commencing their studies at the University of Essex from the 2020-21 academic year, your fees will increase by up to 5% for each academic year of study.
