Loyalty discounts

If you're applying for a postgraduate course and have previously studied at Essex, you could be eligible for a loyalty discount on the first year of your postgraduate tuition fees.

    University of Essex Doctoral Scholarships

    Our University of Essex Doctoral Scholarships support talented PhD students pushing boundaries in their field of study. There are 34 awards in total to be granted across our Social Sciences, Humanities and Science and Health faculties for 2017. If you have an excellent academic background and the potential for future achievement then you could be eligible.

    University of Essex Social Sciences Doctoral Scholarships

    Want to do a PhD? Are you a high achiever? Apply for our University of Essex Social Sciences Doctoral Scholarships to receive a fee waiver or discount, doctoral stipend, training bursary and Proficio funding for three years of your studies.

    The closing date is 12 February 2017.

    Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) studentships

    As an ESRC Doctoral Training Centre, Essex has 16 fully-funded studentships in total available for high quality applicants from the UK and EU. International students are eligible for funding if your research uses advanced quantitative methods.

    Our training pathways include:

    China Scholarship Council joint PhD Scholarship

    The University of Essex is offering ten full tuition fee-waivers for PhD students from China starting in October 2015. These awards are to be held in conjunction with a stipend covering costs to be provided by the China Scholarship Council. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the potential to perform outstandingly at doctoral level.

    Silberrad Scholarship

    The University of Essex Silberrad Scholarships will be awarded by the University to provide support for its own graduates to pursue PhD study. The scholarships are funded by a legacy from the Silberrad Estate, which was bequeathed to the University in 2007.
