CFA® and IMC scholarships

  • CFA Program (Level One) scholarship – third-year UG and PGT students only

    Qualifying for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credential is one way to enhance your CV if you're interested in pursuing a career in investment management.

    As a member of the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program, the University of Essex can award up-to six exceptional students each year with a scholarship to study for the Level One exam. The scholarship covers the one-time CFA Program enrolment fee and reduces the exam registration fee (includes access to the curriculum eBook) to US$350, saving you at least US$960 in total. The scholarship is open to all University of Essex students in the third year of their undergraduate course, as well as Masters students.

    How to apply

    The University of Essex deadline for CFA scholarship applications for the December 2018 and June 2019 Level One exams is 1 August 2018. To apply, or for any questions regarding the CFA programme and scholarship, please contact Sina Erdal on: serdal@essex.ac.uk.

    The applicant deadline for the 2017 scholarship has now passed.

  • Investment Management Certificate (IMC) scholarship

    Awarded by CFA UK, the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) is a mandatory requirement for many leading UK investment firms.

    As an IMC Advantage Partner, Essex Business School can award up-to three exceptional undergraduate students with a scholarship for the two IMC Exams each year.

    This scholarship includes the registration and exam fees for both Unit One and Unit Two, as well as the Official Training Manual for each of these units.

Masters funding

From autumn 2016, postgraduate loans for Masters courses will be available from the Student Loans company.

The University of Essex subscribes to the Alternative Guide to Postgraduate Funding, which you may also find useful if you're looking to fund a PhD or Masters. Contact pgadmit@essex.ac.uk for access (Essex users can login with their University email address).

Loyalty discounts

Previously studied at The University of Essex? You could be eligible for a loyalty discount on the first year of your postgraduate tuition fees. We offer two loyalty discounts:

  • Alumni Loyalty Discount – for postgraduate applicants who successfully completed their undergraduate studies with us
  • Study Abroad Loyalty Discount – for international students who spent at least one term at Essex

Our University of Essex Doctoral Scholarships support talented PhD students pushing boundaries in their field of study. There are 34 awards in total to be granted across our Social Sciences, Humanities and Science and Health faculties for 2017. If you have an excellent academic background and the potential for future achievement, you could be eligible.
