Our Centre for Trauma, Asylum and Refugees examines the reality and experience of being an asylum seeker or refugee from a variety of perspectives.

Outstanding reputation

We have an outstanding reputation for research and, submitting with the Department of Sociology, have consistently achieved top 10 rankings in the UK's research assessments, most recently for our research quality in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework.

Broad scope

Our researchers are recognised internationally for their work in the role of the unconscious mind in mental health, as well as in culture and society generally.
