Masters courses

Our wide range of Masters enable you to get the most from our unique blend of academic and clinical expertise. They cover both the development and the current applications of psychoanalytic and Jungian thought, and also address how these can inform and deepen social and political enquiry. Some can form strong foundations for further clinical training, some relate more to philosophical, historical and theoretical explorations. Some are more directly linked to current and future work settings.

Having benefited from the personal and academic development the Department offers, our MA alumni have gone on to become successful and eminent in a wide range of activities.

Most of our taught Masters courses can be studied either full- or part-time. You can read about the experiences of our students who have studied our Masters courses.

You may also be interested in our Graduate Diplomas and pre-Masters courses which provide pathway routes to our Masters courses.

  • MA Psychoanalytic Studies

Our MA Psychoanalytic Studies gives you a unique and fascinating way of exploring how the unconscious affects both individuals and societies and cultures.

  • MA Jungian and Post-Jungian Studies

How can Jungian analytic psychology explain historical events, culture and society? What are the possibilities and limitations of applying analytical psychology to various socio-cultural fields or topics?

Whether you are looking to train as a Jungian analyst or psychotherapist, or learn the skills to carry out research in a related area of analytical psychology, our unique course gives you a thorough academic grounding in Jungian and post-Jungian theory and practice.

Our MA Refugee Care combines expertise from both our Department and the Tavistock Centre to bring an innovative twin-site Masters in the study of refugee care.
