Students Staff

Art Exchange

We coordinate a range of activities for schools and colleges designed to highlight the benefits of higher education in a fun and interesting way. We also support teachers to help their students make the right choices about their future.

The Outreach team work with schools and colleges across Essex, Suffolk and east London to promote fair access and progression to University. Our primary focus is students who:

  • are the first in the family to progress to University
  • come from low income households
  • are living in areas of social deprivation
  • have a disability
  • have been in care at some point
  • mature students (aged over 21 at the start of an undergraduate course)

How we can help

We run a number of activities with students ranging from Year 6 (10-11 years old) right through to mature students. These take place both in schools and on our campuses where we provide information and advice about student finance, careers and university applications, as well as a realistic taste of the university experience (both academic and social).

We rely on the support and involvement of colleagues from across the University to deliver these activities, so we’re always keen to hear from both academic departments and professional services staff members.

We have assigned members of our team for specific faculties and campuses. If you’d like to speak to someone about how you can be more involved, please contact the relevant member of the team.
