So, have you got an idea? A talent? A skill? A plan? Are you going to make your millions or just fancy being your own boss?

Startup Grants

OK, so here’s the deal, the University of Essex will give our entrepreneurial graduates up to £1000 as part of our Startup Grants scheme to help get you set up and ready to go.

Available for 2017 graduates to apply for if:

  • You have already set up your own business;
  • You are going to work for yourself;
  • You intend to find work as a freelancer;
  • You have developed a product that you would like to take to market;
  • You have a skill that you could market as a business.

Startup Grants will be awarded once a month but graduates can apply all the way through to December 2017. Graduates must have registered their business with companies house and have set up a business bank account to be eligible.

Postgraduate Certificate in New Venture Creation

The Postgraduate Certificate in New Venture Creation further study course gives you the opportunity to develop your entrepreneurial skills, your business plan and your marketing plan as well as the opportunity to pitch for start-up business funding on completion.

The application deadline has been extended to 13 December 2017 so this is your last chance to apply for the FULLY FUNDED Postgraduate Certificate in New Venture Creation.

That’s right, if you graduated from the University of Essex in 2017, Essex is running this exclusive further study course free of charge.

The details

  • Starts 8 January 2018
  • Finishes 23 February 2018
  • Taught by Professor Jay Mitra
  • At Essex Business School, Colchester Campus
  • Pitch for funding from Essex at the end of the course
  • Accommodation in Colchester will be provided
  • You also get a weekly stipend to cover basic living costs

You’ll be able to pitch for funding from Essex at the end of the course. Last year, 5 Essex graduates were awarded up to £3000.
