How Generation Essex can help you

Start your job search now

Check out CareerHub to search for a range of opportunities. We have some great graduate opportunities for you after you leave university so why not take a look and see what’s on offer.

Let us also introduce you to Essex Interns. Not only do they create real, paid internships for all Essex students, but they also create incredible paid graduate internship opportunities just for Essex final year undergraduates after you graduate. Help yourself get your foot on the ladder. An internship on your CV and really makes you stand out from the crowd.

Remember, you have extended access to CareerHub for 3 years after you graduate to help you apply for graduate schemes, jobs and internships.

Considering a Masters?

Look no further than your very own Employability and Careers team who can help you find the perfect course here at Essex (you get a discount for this!) or elsewhere. We’ll even guide you through your application and help you find information on funding. Masters support – find out more

Want to teach?

Whether you’ve already secured your route into teaching or not, we are here for you. We have teaching careers experts to help with your UCAS teacher training application and after that, we can help you secure work experience, alternative accreditations if you don’t want to take formal teacher training options and even help you research grants and bursaries to support your training!

Setting up on your own?

Are you a recent Essex graduate with a great business idea but need some kit or space to get it off the ground? Why not apply for a Start-Up grant from the University of Essex!

It isn’t easy to start a business, become self-employed or go freelance, so we’re offering Start-Up grants of up to either £500 or £1000. Whether you need to purchase equipment, some space to work or some additional training or qualifications, a Start-Up grant could be yours.

To apply, complete the application form and, if successful, you could have the money in your bank account within a few weeks.  We will even help successful applicants with additional advice and support to grow your business by offering 1:1 mentoring support via the Essex Startups Team
