Chart My Path and Big Essex Award

Use Chart My Path to discover the broad range of extra-curricular and voluntary opportunities available to you at Essex. Submit relevant activities for verification towards the Big Essex Award and gain recognition for the activities you complete on your digital transcript.

Chart My Path features over 190 activities to help you gain skills for your life, studies, and future. Any student who is registered at the University of Essex can access Chart My Path and log activities to the Big Essex Award.

The Big Essex Award is now embedded within Chart My Path.

The activities you complete as part of the Big Essex Award (3, 4 and 5 unit activities, indicated with an orange shield logo) will be verified by us and included on your university digital transcript, the Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) or Further Achievement Report (FAR) if you’re a postgraduate research student.

You can achieve a level of the Award by logging 3-, 4- and 5-unit activities for verification, the Award is made up of four levels:

  • Bronze (5 units)
  • Silver (10 units)
  • Gold (15 units)
  • Platinum (20 units)

Get started

To get started, you will need to log into your Gradintelligence account.

You can then keep track of all your extra-curricular achievements by reflecting on activities you do on or off campus. From this, Chart My Path can suggest your next steps and provide you with a personalised timeline of your progress and achievements.

Ensure you log your Big Essex Award activities by 1 June deadline each year for them to be recognised the next time your HEAR updates, or on your final HEAR if you are a final year student.
