Access to Digital Award Documents
Students who registered on their course for the first time after September 2014 can access their full academic record and transcript available via their HEAR These are electronically accessible for life. You can share a digital version of your HEAR with employers and other universities, providing them with a University-certified record of your achievements. Further information about the HEAR
Fully certified electronic Award Certificates are also now available for these students, alongside the HEAR. However, students with a HEAR that graduated before September 2019 will need to contact award-docs@essex.ac.uk to request an electronic Award Certificate upload. Any students who graduated from September 2019 onwards will have this automatically uploaded.
Students without access to a HEAR, such as students who studied with us before September 2014, can still order an academic transcript.
New students are not permitted to order documents from this site before they are registered. If you are a new student to the university you must register on your course before you can order any documents with regards to your status as a student. Please read the published information with regards to registration if you have not already done so. If you are not registered, and you place an order through this system, you will not be given your documents.
You can only place an order for one course or award at a time. If you require documentation for more than one course or award you will need to complete a separate online order for each.
If you are a graduate from a UK Partner Institution or college you may use this service to request replacement Award Certificates only. All other documents should be obtained from your institution directly.
If you are a current student and require a letter for Council Tax or Bank purposes please contact the Student Information Team for advice.
