Arriving at our Colchester Campus

Travelling to the University

You will not be able to move in any earlier than the start date of your contract. We will contact you directly if this is an option as it cannot be requested individually.

Collecting your keys after Welcome Week

North and South Campus

If you will be living on the North or South of campus (South Courts, South Towers, North Towers, Houses, and Wolfson Court) you will need to collect your key from the first floor of the Silberrad Student Centre on Square 5, open Monday to Friday 9am to 5 pm. If you are arriving outside of these hours, including overnight, please collect your key from Security at the Information Centre on Square 3.

University Quays

If you will be living in Matthews Quay, Sainty Quay or Hawkins Quay, your keys will be available from the University Quays accommodation office in Matthews Quay 1 between the hours of 8.30am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. Outside of these hours your keys will be available at the Security Office in Hawkins Quay 2. If the office is temporarily unmanned please call Security on 07460373172 and they will come and assist you.

The Meadows

If you are living in Godwin, Cole, Arber, Conway or Tansley, your keys will be available from The Copse accommodation office in The Poplars building. The office is open 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. If the office is temporarily unmanned, or it is outside of these hours, please call Security on 07460373172 and they will come and assist you.

The Copse

If you are living in The Oaks and The Poplars, your keys will be available in The Copse office in The Poplars building. The office is open 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. If the office is temporarily unmanned, or it is outside of these hours, please call Security on 07460373172 and they will come and assist you.

To get to the Meadows and The Copse, please go up Clingoe Hill (A133) and turn right at the first set of traffic lights in to the north side of Campus (Knowledge Gateway) and take the third exit on the first roundabout.

Luggage

Where possible please bring your belongings in suitcases with wheels so that you are easily able to transport it to your accommodation.

Accommodation for Parents

You are not permitted to have anyone stay with you for the first two weeks of your autumn term contract, so please make sure that you have booked suitable accommodation in the local area for your parents, friends, partners or siblings that have accompanied you to campus.

Collecting your keys in January

Main campus accommodation (North Towers, Wolfson Court, The Houses, South Towers, and South Courts)

If you are living in main campus accommodation please collect your key from the first floor of the Silberrad Student Centre on Square 5, open Monday to Friday 9am to 5 pm. After 5pm please collect your keys from the Information Centre on Square 3, which will be manned overnight by security staff.
